KLAW's mission is to find homes for adoptable cats and kittens and to provide food and winter shelter for the others.

A feral or free-roaming cat’s expected life span is between two and six years; however, many cats in managed colonies like Kismet’s live far longer. While truly feral cats can become predators that endanger birds and small creatures, cats fed in managed colonies adapt and thrive without threatening endangered species

TOOTSIE

BEFORE

AFTER

Tootsie was an angry, untrusting mother cat determined to protect her two kittens. We learned that she had been declawed. Not only had she survived, but she managed to nurse her babies. She clearly could not be released after being spayed.

While KLAW pursued adoption efforts, Tootsie and the kittens remained in a volunteer’s home. KLAW succeeded in finding homes for the kittens and as well as for Tootsie. Lots of love and special treats turned Tootsie into the contented companion in the "After" photo.
